School Impact (Developer) Fees

 

Effective January 1, 1987,  Assembly Bill 2926, Section 53080 to the California Government Code authorizes any school district to levy "School Impact / Developer Fees" on any new construction, remodels or additions to residential and commercial / industrial development projects for the purpose of funding the construction or reconstruction of school facilities.

The Sequoia Union High School District's (SUHSD) Maintenance and Operations department provides the service of processing application and collection of these fees for the San Carlos School District.

Developer Fee Report: Annual Developer Fee Report (2023-24) and Five-Year Report

Notice is given that the Developer Fee Report and Five-Year Report are available for public review. The District will present the Fee Report at the January 16, 2025 Regular Board Meeting. The meeting will be held in person at 1200 Industrial Road, Unit 9B, San Carlos, California as well as virtually. Public Hearing on Developer Fee Increase - November 21, 2024

At its regular meeting on November 21, 2024 the Board approved a resolution to implement development fees established by the District against residential construction at $5.17 per square foot and against new commercial or industrial construction at $0.84 a square foot. The fee will become effective on January 20, 2025, which is 60 days after the adoption of the resolution levying such fee by the Governing Board. The 2024 Developer Fee Study and adopted resolution can be found below.
