We are thrilled to share the 2026 San Carlos School District Annual Report with you!

During 2025–26, San Carlos School District students continued to outshine and outperform school districts in San Mateo County and across the state. Thanks to amazing teachers and staff, and a laser-like focus on our Strategic Plan and Board Goals — together we reached these remarkable milestones.

State-Level Excellence: Both Central Middle School and Tierra Linda Middle School were officially recognized as California Distinguished Schools.
Academic & Future-Ready Growth: Our award-winning AI Task Force advanced creativity in teaching and learning.
Expanded Opportunities: Our award-winning TKELP program and community partnerships expanded opportunities for students.
Modernized Spaces: We made major, visible progress on our Measure H facilities projects creating modern learning environments that reflect the excellence of our schools.

While we celebrate these accomplishments, including reaching pre-pandemic enrollment of over 3,000 students, we must also prepare for the financial challenges ahead. Ongoing state funding shortages and rising costs mean we must rely on strong local support. This helps us maintain the exceptional educational experiences our students deserve.

2025 San Carlos School District Annual Report

We are thrilled to share the 2025 San Carlos School District Annual Report with you! This year, our dedicated staff, dynamic students, supportive families, and our community’s invaluable support have driven increased enrollment and improved student outcomes, making it a joyful year of learning.

Throughout the year, we celebrated milestones like San Carlos’s Centennial at Hometown Days and honors earned by students in various co-curricular activities. We also initiated projects to upgrade HVAC systems, enhancing air quality and comfort across all campuses, ensuring our commitment to safe and modern learning environments.

As the district looks ahead, we see that we must navigate significant financial challenges due to low and unpredictable state and federal funding. Currently, the district benefits from our voter-approved parcel tax which helps us maintain essential programs and retain quality teachers, but it expires in 2028. Your continued engagement is crucial as we plan for the future to sustain our educational excellence.

2024 San Carlos School District Annual Report

As part of our commitment to transparency and open communication, we are pleased to present our 2024 San Carlos School District Annual Report on the state of our schools and district. The San Carlos School District proudly enrolls 2,800 public school students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade, along with 200 students in our Early Learning Preschool Program. The 2023-24 school year was marked by numerous successes for SCSD. We continue to focus on educating the Whole Child and providing an innovative and engaging learning experience for each and every student.

In this report, you will find details of our outstanding student outcomes, information on our refreshed Strategic Plan and Facilities Master Plan, and updates on the remarkable work of our educators. We are immensely grateful to you for the successful passage of a $176 million dollar bond to improve our facilities. Thank you for your support!

In the San Carlos School District, we are dedicated to providing an innovative and engaging learning experience for each and every learner. We ended 2022-23 on a high note: 6 of our schools earned the CDE Distinguished School Award, we celebrated awards and accolades for work in Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, and our students celebrated awards and achievement in writing, science, music, debate and math.

In this community report, you will learn about our Strategic Plan, Profile of the Learner, Facility Master Planning, community partnerships, and outcomes we achieve with our excellent educators. During the 2021-2022 school year, San Carlos School District continued to deliver on the promise of meeting the needs of all of our learners socially, emotionally and academically on our school campuses. While the global pandemic posed challenges to our daily lives, the teachers and staff at SCSD adapted and worked very hard to focus on teaching and learning. As a result our students are thriving and we graduated over 300 SCSD learners to high school this fall!

In this community report, we share with you information about our funding, programming, results, and priorities. We have much to celebrate at San Carlos including our families and community that cherish and invest in their children and schools.
