San Carlos School Board Appoints New Board Member

 
The San Carlos School District is pleased to announce that Wendy Dougherty has been appointed as the newest member of the SCSD School Board. Ms. Dougherty has a remarkable track record of support to our schools. The expertise she has garnered through her professional career and her commitment to our students will serve the district well. We are extremely fortunate to welcome her to the board!
 

Wendy Dougherty Bio

Personal Information: Wendy and her family have resided in San Carlos for over 11 years. She has a daughter who is in 5th grade at Arroyo and attended Brittan Acres since Kindergarten.

Other Education/Community Leadership: Masters of International Affairs from the Graduate School of Global Policy and Strategy, University of California, San Diego. B.A., Duke University. Served on PTA at Brittan Acres as Chair of Special Projects. Served as fundraising chair for the campaign for Measure P Parcel Tax with Citizens for San Carlos Schools that was successfully passed in 2015. 

Professional Experience: Results-driven executive with over 20 years experience in philanthropy, management consulting, international development, and education. Started career as a bilingual elementary educator in Compton, CA with Teach for America. Currently serve as Chief Operating Officer of an education non-profit organization, Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation, supporting a variety of initiatives at the regional and state level aimed at promoting innovation and quality improvements in the public education system.
