Superintendent Jennifer Frentress introduced Brittan Acres Elementary School Principal Jude Noyes, who presented an update to Trustees on teaching, learning, special programs, and the ways students live the SCSD Learner Profile everyday. He was joined by several 3rd grade students who shared experiences and insights on what it means to be a BA Bruin.

San Carlos School District (SCSD) is proud of our long-standing tradition of excellence. For decades, our exceptional teachers, small neighborhood schools, strong community partnerships, and vibrant STEAM programs have prepared generations of San Carlos children for success in high school, college, and beyond. We serve nearly 3,000 students every day.

As inadequate state funding and the expiration of our current parcel tax create new challenges, the District is evaluating whether to ask the community to renew or increase this critical local funding to sustain the programs that make SCSD exceptional. Click on the title link to learn more.

Congratulations to Central Middle School and Tierra Linda Middle School on being named 2026 California Distinguished Schools! This prestigious honor recognizes schools across the state that demonstrate exceptional student achievement and outstanding educational practices.

Central and Tierra Linda are among just 408 middle and high schools statewide—and only six in San Mateo County—to receive this recognition.

Both schools will be celebrated at the California Distinguished Schools Awards Ceremony at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim this April. Click on the link to read the full press release.
