From the Counselors’ Corner
- The SCSD, SCEF, and The Healthy Schools Initiative of the Sequoia Healthcare District provide funding support that ensures that all children have access to School Counseling services and programs at all four San Carlos elementary schools. Each school PTA committee generously provides funds for books, materials, social learning games for the School Counselors. Below is a report of the School Counseling Activities for the first trimester of the school year.

ROPES is the Rite Of Passage ExperienceS program that is specifically designed as an optional enrichment activity as students complete a cycle of their education (early mastery, intermediate mastery, advanced mastery). ROPES is an opportunity for students to participate in an academic ritual by way of real-life learning experiences. The ROPES project gives students in fourth, sixth and eighth grade opportunities to explore and demonstrate project based learning. Over the next few years, we will be transitioning from fourth, sixth and eighth grade to third, fifth and eighth grade which will ultimately align with the transition times our students will follow upon promoting from Pre-3, 4-5 and 6-8 schools. … (read more)
