Student Support

Overview

SCSD offers a variety of support services to meet all student’s educational needs (e.g. learning, behavioral, emotional, etc.) through both general and special education.  A continuum of support is provided through targeted instruction by the general education teachers as well as through strategic and intensive special education services.

Students struggling with a mental or physical conditions, long-term illness, or various disorders that substantially limits  a major life activity may require the support of a 504 Plan. Eligible students may receive required supports, aids and accommodations  on all campuses. All services and supports are provided in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) and based upon identified student need.

All campuses have a team support of general education teachers, Educational Specialists, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and para-educators to support student learning.  In addition, all elementary campuses have additional literacy support provided by District Literacy Associates in coordination with site staff and administration.
