I recently received the question below from a parent in our community about construction in the District.  Please see my response following the question.  Oh, and keep the questions coming to Dear Dr. Baker!

Question:  Hello, Dr. Baker! Hope you are well. In the past, the district website had great updates about the construction process/progress updates happening at Central Middle School. Will that be available for Tierra Linda/CLC construction efforts? We see that the old gym is now completely gone…and look forward to the updates to learn more about how things are progressing as well as how best families should proceed in/out of campus in a safe way as the new school year approaches.

Dr. Baker’s Response:  Thank you for asking this question.  Providing timely and ongoing information about construction projects is a priority for the District.  As such, just as we did with both Central and Arroyo schools, we will be providing the community weekly updates of what specific construction projects will be taking place.  We will begin these weekly updates soon after the School Board has completed the Environmental Impact Report process.  They are scheduled take up this topic at the next regularly scheduled Board Meeting on September 8.

If you wish to be added to our Weekly Update email distribution list, please contact Cathy Eitel at ceitel@scsdk8.org.

In terms of accessing the Tierra Linda/CLC campus, please review our traffic safety brochure which is posted on the District website  http://www.scsdk8.org/wp-content/uploads/Traffic-Safety_16-17-FINAL-Aug15.pdf.  Traffic procedures and drop off information is provided along with site locations of crossing guards for those that walk.  SamTrans bus details are also included as three routes (61, 295, and 95) now serve Tierra Linda, CLC and Carlmont.
