Visual Arts

Both Central Middle School and Tierra Linda Middle School provide outstanding visual arts programs that celebrate the creativity of our students , in our elective wheels, ceramics and fine arts courses.  Students are taught drawing, painting and ceramics skills which result in masterpieces that are exhibited in the school and community locations.  Our fine arts programs also emphasize art appreciation as a way to celebrate creativity from many vantage points and perspectives.

On our elementary campuses, art is integrated throughout the subject areas-social science, language arts, science, and mathematics and occurs in the classroom.  However, art displays offer opportunities for self-discovery, expression, self-esteem, and expanded visual and aesthetic enrichment.  In addition to the embedded instruction, Art in Action, a monthly program, is offered on all campuses which teaches students specific art concepts inspired by a famous artist or culture and the students learn to express their opinions about what they are seeing.
