Choral Music

 

SCSD offers choral music at both the elementary schools as well as the middle schools, focusing on vocal techniques and performance singing, including soloing, harmonies and other areas of performance. In the elementary schools, SCSD contracts with Music For Minors to provide all TK-4th grade classes with weekly music class. Musical “sharing events” are held annually during class each Spring to highlight learned skills.  For the middle schools, students in 5th grade take a class in choir once per week while 6th-8th graders have the option of participating in an after-school choir program that also showcases both group and individual talent. The middle school choirs also participate in the Anaheim Heritage Festival and are the recipients of numerous awards.
