The San Carlos School District (SCSD) is a public Pre-K to 8th grade school district located in San Carlos, California serving over 3,300 students.  The school district serves the vast majority of the students within the city of San Carlos, a town of just under 30,000 residents, located approximately midway between San Francisco and San Jose.  San Carlos has for years been a magnet for families attracted by the small town atmosphere, desirable location, and excellent schools. 

The district has seven K-8 schools, including 2 middle schools, 4 elementary schools, and 1 K-8 charter school.  In addition, SCSD is designing and building two new school facilities to serve grades 4 and 5. For more information on new school construction visit Facilities Master Plan.

After graduating from 8th grade, students typically go on to the Sequoia Union High School District, and most often to Sequoia High School or Carlmont High School.
